Open letter to our Hero's serving abroad.
From the volunteers of Springfield Cares-Soldier Mailing
While you folks are supporting our security, and protecting us in distant lands, your families and friends are combating an enemy here at home.
The idea of quarantine is foreign to our population and while we get up to speed with our new but temporary 'normal', thoughts of your sacrifices make this easier.
These boxes of toiletries and goodies were prepared for you by our volunteers dropping off material to our front porch, where we were able to assemble everything into these cartons. Sadly we are below our normal volume on the toiletries, so we included extra snacks for you to enjoy.
All this was done while observing 'social distancing' including the postal pick up. We are able to complete the packages, place them on a table in front of the garage, and our post man/women backs his truck up and loads the boxes. Postage and custom forms are printed from the Internet, so none of the volunteers had to go to the post office. We will continue to tweak our program with an aim to keep our volunteers safe, while still supporting all of you.
Our collective prayer is for this to pass, but specifically that each of you are safe, and your families are healty.
