Springfield Cares - Soldier Mailings

Springfield Cares-Soldier Mailing sprung from an idea in October of 2007 by Alice Beck that Soldiers Serving in Harms way deserve a little something from home. Realizing that many of those serving do not have a support system of people to send them reminders of home, or maybe do not have the means to send packages, a group of friends came together with material to mail, and names of service people desiring a little love from home, and the first 20 boxes were on their way.

Over the course of time since that first meeting in October of 2007, the group of friends grew, as well as the mission. As of October 2018 the Springfield Cares-Soldier Mailing has packaged and shipped over 3086 boxes at a postage cost in excess of $45,000.00. The project relies of the gracious donation of items to mail, by those involved in the project, and has funded the postage cost through a couple of community fund raising events, support of clubs, and interested individuals.

There is no administrative overhead, as all the time to prepare, research, shop and update social media are part of the volunteer mission. We rely on you to help and if you’re interested, or have the name of someone serving in harms way, please contact Alice Beck at alice@springfieldcares.com.

Springfield Cares and has NOT forgotten.
