Dear volunteers, with all the craziness going on Virus related, I believe we have a novel idea to enable us to support our heroes.
If all could attempt to purchase content for the mailings over the next few days, and if you drop it on our porch at 2 Island View Lane, Springfield, IL 62712, we have all the boxes and tape etc for making the boxes and doing the labels. The post office has a pick up service that will mean no one has to go to PO.
Alice and I will pack up all the boxes and all of us will maintain our appropriate social distance.
We will see all again in person when we are able, but we will in this way continue to support those abroad in dangerous places. I cannot imagine the stress on these military folks with their families here in uncertainty.
I have been cynical about all of this until now, but from here on out I’m adopting a less cynical attitude toward all this. we love you all, let’s make this work, and start shopping!
