First please let me say how sorry I am for not taking time to up date this site. I'm not good on computers, so at times I just get so frustrated that I say "the h### with it",
I promise to do better ! Just bear with me. As there has been so much going on in the past couple of months.
We have now mail out 2,745 ! We have spent just over $39,000.00 in postage - ALL THROUGH DONATIONS.
We received our biggest donation ever from the ELKS LODGE 158 Charity Golf Outing - $5,000.00 - This will cover one full year of the postal fees - $4,164.00 or 240 boxes, (as long as the Post Office doesn't increase their cost again.) The remaining amount of this donation will go towards buying goodies for our 'Hero's'.
Katy Broglin who works for Thrivent Financial also gave us a very nice donation of $250.00 in merchandise !
Different Lake Clubs here in Springfield, have donated their proceeds from different functions. Blue Ridge Club donated their tips from their POOP party- "Picnic on our Patio"
There have been so many more, which we are so very thankful.
We've lost some of our volunteers, but yet have gained so many more.....we appreciated any and all the time each volunteers helps with this project, and the pot luck dinner after the packing is completed.
We are always looking for names and addresses of Military personnel to mail to. If you happen to have a name, and would like us to mail to him/her please IM me their information. If you're interested in coming out just to see what we do, please do. We have been meeting usually on the third Tuesday of the month at the TRN Club at 6:00 P.M.
