My grandson, Sgt. Justin *****, currently serving with Army in Middle East (I *think* in *****), received packages from Springfield Cares today. (Operation Enduring Freedom, Spartan Shield) He was delighted, and gave me permission to share his comments/photo with you. You also have permission to post on Springfield Cares web site if you wish.
His words: “The Elks Club sent me 3 packages with a bunch of different stuff in it. It included Christmas decorations. That was an awesome touch. They sent some awesome stuff. The cards the kids wrote are awesome! We all had a good laugh. Tell her thank you. The guys really liked the packages.”
When I told him that his comments were being forwarded to you, he said, “Ok good. I really appreciate the thought that went into their packages.”
And from ME, best part about this is that you sent stuff that he didn’t think to request, I didn’t think to send, but things that are obviously well thought-out and appreciated. Thank you so much! I want you to know how much it means…not only to soldiers, but to their families here as well!
