I received a copy of this email that was sent to her-very well written, and full of information for us to share with everyone.............looking at the requests listed, I think we've are on the right track !!

*****************************************************************************

ALL,
I'm FINALLY gonna take a minute and provide the follow-up in reference to the email (in part) below. I tried to make some queries concerning the items that are most difficult to keep on the shelves when our friends back home send care packages, along with a few items that come in handy if we have them on the shelf.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't feel pressured to donate anything specific, I just wanted to offer the info because when I have made donations in the past, I always felt better knowing the items would really be useful to the Airmen. So here we go....

Hand sanitizer
Baby wipes
Deodorant
Single size laundry detergent
Command hooks (any size)
Magnets or magnetic hooks are handy too, most of the CHUs are metal trailers,
inside and out
Peanut butter
Single serving packets of crystal lite (any flavors)
ANY kind of snack items that won't melt on the trip over are great (in some
places, a lot of young guys with youthful metabolism....makes me sick!)
The usual travel size toiletries are always great to have...
Shampoo
Shaving cream
Disposable razors
Soap/shower gel
Tooth paste
Lotion
Sunscreen
Gold bond powder
q-tips (I can't even get Q-tips for me here at the BX. Whaaaaaaat? Yep, had
to order them from Amazon)

A couple of items to throw in if you have connections at a good discount store, clearance type stuff, or dollar store:
Single size flat sheets (Airmen in bunk beds tuck them under the mattress of the top bunk and use them to block the light so they can sleep)
Crocs (I would guess large/x-large...the terrain at some of the locations in
Iraq literally EAT regular flip-flops used for shower shoes)
If anyone really wants to spoil the guys that work for me (or maybe if you feel sorry for them, Bob?), they drink coffee and have a Keurig machine. Idon't drink coffee but they all like the Dunkin donuts lite roast (?) or Starbucks mocha K-cups. I'm gonna guess anything that starts with Starbucks is a fortune though, so if anyone wants to get some, I can send money to help with the cost.

Lastly, for those who have asked if I need anything personally, I truly have nearly everything I need (exceptions: kids and dogs). However, if you really wanna send something I can use....I keep candy jars on my desk (shocker, I know) and the BX can't keep Werther's original in stock, forcing me to pick something gross for the candy jar. Also, I have gone through about 3 or 4 of
the 5x8 size Sudoku books since I've been here. They are the perfect size to fit in my uniform pants pocket so I carry them as a form of entertainment whenI'm stuck at a PAX terminal somewhere, without WIFI in general, I've already killed the battery on my phone, OR I'm conserving the battery for an emergency. Nothing's worse than a bored Sonja, chances of getting in trouble increase exponentially!

Side note: I am not asking for travel hairspray or the like, although I'm sure some gals use it....I quit doing my hair on day three, it was pointless since it was soaked and matted to my scalp after 15 minutes of walking out the door anyway. Until this trip, I forgot what my exposed forehead looked like.
Darn that Father Time!!!!!!!! Attaching a pic of our current team, but ww take a new photo later this week after my new boss arrives Wednesday.
Ok, that's all I can think of for now. If anything else pops in my little
head, I'll pass it along.
Thanks to everyone who have stayed in touch, offered to check on my kids, and
for your faithful support! It truly does make it easier to focus on the
mission when I know I don't have to worry about other stuff.

Thanks a ton,
